IN MICROSOFT WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM WE HAVE THE ADMINISTRATOR’S DIRECTORY. IN LINUX THE ADMINISTRATOR DIRECTORY IS KNOWN AS THE ROOT DIRECTORY. THE ROOT IN LINUX IS THE SYSTEM USER. ROOT # USER $
IN WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM WE GET THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT BY DEFAULT AS SOON AS WE FINISHED INSTALLING THE WINDOWS VERSION AND THEN WE HAVE TO CREATE THE USER ACCOUNTS IF NEEDED. BUT IN LINUX WE DON’T HAVE TO CREATE SUCH USERS THEY ARE ALREADY BEING CREATED AT THE TIME OF INSTALLATION ALONG WITH THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT. BUT HAVE TO CREATE THE GUEST ACCOUNT UNLIKE MICROSOFT.
THE HARDWARE INFORMATION IS STORED IN THE KERNEL. BASICALLY THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF KERNEL ONE IS MONOLITHIC AND OTHER IS MODULER.
